We first met Graham and Janice during their engagement session in Vancouver's Gastown.  We loved them from the get-go and we couldn't wait to shoot their wedding!

If there's anything I've learned in my time as a wedding photographer, it's that, the key to a successful wedding day is to just.... take a deep breath... and relax.  Things never go the way they're supposed to on a wedding day.  It's a guarantee.  To worry about it is futile.

Graham and Janice were perfect models for this philosophy (is there a "wedding day philosophy"? I don't think so... we're just weird and maybe a little obsessed with weddings).  It was obvious that what was important to them was to just be in love and be surrounded by their friends and family. Oh, and have a GREAT party.

If there is one word to describe Graham and Janice on their wedding day (besides the obvious—Janice has an amazing smile and a personality to go with it, Graham is maybe one of the nicest guys on the planet, they fit each other to a tee, etc. etc. etc.), it would be: Chill.  If we could hold up a bride and groom to show other clients, we would show these two and say "Just be chill like Graham and Janice, and your wedding day will automatically be amazing".

Because at the end of the day, it's not about the centrepieces, or the food.  It's not about the dress or the diamonds.  It's about love, pure and simple.  Love between the bride and groom.  Love for family, love for friends.  Mom and Dad.  That uncle you haven't seen in a while but you wish you saw more of.  New babies.  People you wish could have been there, but couldn't.  Love.  It's all you need to have the best wedding day ever and it will sustain you for the rest of your life.

Graham and Janice, thanks for having so much love to give, and for sharing your day with us.  We love these photos!
