Lake Banook Engagement Session!

One of the greatest things about what we do is that our eyes are constantly being opened to some breathtaking spots in our own backyard, Mike & Kayla's engagement shoot was no different. They had decided to have their photos done in Dartmouth, which I am not entirely familiar with. After some internet research and input from my dad, we came up with two great spots; The NSCC Akerly Campus and Lake Banook Canoe Club. I had never been to either location but both had so much to offer - The NSCC campus has amazing views of the harbour and an incredible walking trail, while the Canoe Club sits literally on top of the water and has an energy that is palpable. It may be one of my favourite locations yet, and to have the opportunity to photograph these two, so sweet and tremendously in love, was magical! The countdown is now on for their wedding, and already we know it is going to be amazing!!!

Citadel Sledding Engagement Session

Ashley & James were a dream to work with, up for anything and always with big smiles! We met up with them at the Garrison Brewery, and what a way to start -  Such beautiful sunlight flooding through the windows and $2 beer :)  Our next stop brought us to our familiar stomping grounds in Point Pleasant Park, and what a stop it was! We arrived just as the sun was setting, and it made for the perfect backdrop to capture the love between two people that are so obviously meant to be together. From there we headed down town to grab a couple of street shots before the real fun started. If you have never gone sledding on Citadel Hill you are missing out! These two had to search the city high and low to find crazy carpets but they came out triumphant, and I am so glad, because I can still hear the screams and laughter :)

In my Facebook sneak peek for these two I had used a quote from Sleepless in Seattle, not knowing that there was significance for these two. What better way to present their amazing engagement session than with another??

"They knew it. Time, distance, nothing could separate them. Because they knew. It was right. It was real." - Meg Ryan, Sleepless In Seattle
