The thing I love the most about doing weddings is how different they all can be. At Atlantica Oak Island we've captured a lot of fun filled adventurous weddings. We really love working with the staff who operate the beautiful resort on the South Shore of Nova Scotia; it's refreshing to know you are surrounded by professionals who operate the smoothest ship around. Kristen & Arvin enjoyed the best of both worlds - the day started with a Hindu ceremony and was quickly followed by a Western ceremony. (I'm not even sure if that's the right term for it, I suppose if you live in France or Russia you don't call it a 'French' or 'Russian' ceremony...) The day was full of some of the most beautiful and fantastic people we've had the pleasure of meeting.
I feel that this is always the case when a couple books us without having actually met us. It's always such an amazing feeling to know that our work speaks that loudly - that people will commit to their photography without having actually met the photographer(s). We always do out best for every couple, but when someone reaches out from across the country, or across the sea (yes, we've done it!) it's always fun to really try and hit the wedding out of the park.
I've been following this trend for awhile now so I was over the moon excited when Kristen told me she brought a few love balls of her own for the photos. We hardly ever work with props but we'd be crazy not to want to incorporate these amazing fun love balls into the wedding photos. So much fun!
I've said it before: Atlantica Oak Island is such an incredible resort. It sits on the ocean and you can spot dozens of islands off the coast. A constant stream of sailboats dots the seascape in front of the chalets and they have pretty much every amenity you could ever possibly want. I love working there and if you book Oak Island you can pretty much kiss any stress you might have had about wedding planning goodbye. Who knows, you might even find treasure.... we know Kristen and Arvin did ;)
